What's up with the Ø?

On my way to Copenhagen last summer, I discovered that the word for "island" in Danish is a single Ø. The simplicity really spoke to me. I've always had a thing for islands and more recently a curiosity about the Scandinavian part of my heritage. I wanted to incorporate this somehow into my design-thinking-meets-energy-healing project.

Back at home, as I was creating a portfolio of photos and stories about astrology, home renovation, feng shui and energy healing, the Ø kept humming in the backdrop.

Ø
ØM
HØME
BØDY

The name "homebody" suddenly made so much sense as a way to describe my approach to design and energy healing.

I put these two words together so that the Ø is the island where the home of your body meets the body of your home.

Two beings in a relationship, cultivated through the imagination to tangibly transform your experience. A connection that allows for the possibility that "you" are actually

a spirit nested
within a body
within a home
within a community
within an ecosystem
within a planet
within a cosmos

all of which are functioning separately and together. Islands of shared consciousness.

Also the zero energy in this symbol - the number that's not a number - that hums throughout this fractal as a reminder you that you are you, and you are all of it, and you are also the absence of it.

Get a taste of how I like to be in this Ø energy with a fun and easy Feng Shui exercise. Drop me a line if you have any questions or just let me know how it goes!

p.s. - the Danish pronunciation of Ø is hilariously unpleasant! Nothing like the sound of OMmmmmmmm
